Course design
UEP is a 4-level English program designed for students who want to continue improving their academic English either for their studies or to prepare for standardized tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, GRE or GMAT. Students need to take our free online placement test to determine their level before the first class.
Schedule and payment
Classes are offered on Saturday mornings throughout the academic year. In terms of payment, students do not need to pay or commit to one year of study at the beginning of the year. Instead, we divide the academic year into four 8-week sessions so that students can join the program at the beginning of any of the four sessions. Students who decide to continue can take advantage of the returning student discount.
In class
The teaching method is communicative rather than lecture style. In class, students are expected to ask and answer questions and discuss their ideas with their classmates and with the teacher. Classes are taught in English and all materials are in English only.
In each class students:
- complete a discussion activity
- work on reading skills and vocabulary building
- develop academic writing and editing skills
Class size is limited to a maximum of 18 students.
- Each
level normally takes four 8-week sessions to complete.
